Sunflowers

Some of you may or may not know that Sunflowers are my favorite flower. During high school and college you could find them everywhere, actually, if you come to our apartment they are all over our bathroom. My brother sent me some pictures today. What awesome pictures. Thanks big bro!!!!

an e-mail from my brother

I just got this e-mail from my brother today...

This past week the whole PRT team was on 2 different missions. As our mission was going on we got a message for our mission commander to call back to our base as soon as he could. When he got done with his call he got us all together and told us that the other team took a rocket attack.

In the attack we lost 2 NAVY personnel, Petty Officer Toles one of our mechanics and Hospital Mate (NAVY medic) Retmier. Injured in the attack was my Platoon Sergeant, Master Sergeant Holmes, who took massive abdomen and pelvic trauma. Staff Sergeant Kacer, who took massive facial trauma and lost his left arm above his elbow, also injured was one of our civilian engineers, Mr. Mason, who lost one of his arms at the elbow. All three of them are back in the United States at Walter Reed ARMY Medical Center.

Please take a moment and pray for the families of my fallen comrades. Also pray for a quick and full recovery for the injured.

thank you
Matt

Not too much going on

Hey all!! Sorry I haven't posted in some time. There really hasn't been to much going on here. Summer is finally here. We've had a couple of bad storms here and there but all in all it's nice weather. Work has me busy traveling during the week, here and there, just small day trips. This past weekend I had to go to Harrisburg on Friday for regional training. All the coaches from PA came together. It was at the Civil War Museum. It was really nice. Once that was over I went to the farm for the weekend. Spent Saturday with Grem. We went to some yard sales, shopping, and just hung out. It was nice. Sunday the family was supposed to go to a tree dedication for my Uncle Andy and Pappy, but the guy who was in charge of it was in the hospital. They think he had a slight stroke. So that got pushed back. Everyone came to the farm though and we had a nice cookout. Then some of us girls went to Galen Glenn Winery for a tasting. It's very pretty over there. A rather relaxing weekend.

Jimmy and I haven't been doing too much. Jimmy is finishing up his 2 summer classes. He's been busy with that. We've been working out at the gym and playing tennis when we can. I'm starting to get better. This weekend we are staying home and just hanging out. Might go to a Scranton Yankees game, maybe do some mountaing biking. Who knows. Don't really know too much else. I think we are about to get a storm. I heard some thunder, so I better get going. I'll work on posting more. Sorry!!! Much love!
